Narsinghpur: 'Hindola Utsav' Commences at Shri Jamat Temple on Hariyali Amavasya

Ancient Tradition Celebrated

Narsinghpur, August 12, 2026 – The revered Shri Jamat Temple in Narsinghpur has inaugurated an ancient and traditional 'Hindola Utsav' on the auspicious occasion of Hariyali Amavasya. The temple premises have been specially decorated for this festival, where Lord Thakur Ji is seated daily on attractive swings, offering devotees special darshan.

A devotional and spiritual atmosphere is palpable within the temple. The temple's Mahant (chief priest) Deependra Das Khaki stated that the Hindola Utsav is a significant part of the temple's centuries-old religious traditions. This custom has continued uninterrupted since the time of his late Gurudev and is organized with immense reverence and enthusiasm every year.

Festival Details and Religious Programs

This year's celebration began on Hariyali Amavasya and will continue until Raksha Bandhan. According to Mahant Deependra Das, during the Hindola Utsav, Thakur Ji will be seated on a daily new and differently adorned swing. This provides devotees with the unique benefit of experiencing the Lord in ever-new forms.

Special bhajan services are also being organized by women's bhajan mandalis. Different women's groups will present their devotional songs at the feet of the Lord daily, further enhancing the spiritual aura of the festival. Following the evening aarti, special bhajan sandhya, Manas Shanti Paath, and other religious programs are scheduled.

A large number of devotees from across the region are expected to participate in these events. The temple management is making all necessary arrangements, keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees, so they can enjoy the festival without any inconvenience.

Mahant Deependra Das Khaki has called upon all devotees to actively participate in this Hindola Utsav and seek the blessings of Lord Thakur Ji. He particularly urged everyone to join in the bhajan and kirtan sessions.
