Central Government Praises Narmadapuram Municipality's Sanitation Efforts

The Narmadapuram Municipality has received commendation from the Government of India's Ministry of Urban Development for a special sanitation campaign conducted during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession. The ministry shared images of this initiative on its official 'Swachh Bharat Urban X' page, presenting it as an exemplary model.

This recognition highlights a significant achievement in the municipality's efforts and citizen participation. Following directives from Collector Somesh Mishra, the municipality implemented this initiative to maintain cleanliness during festive events.

'Zero Waste Event' Initiative

A 'Moving Sanitation Campaign' was organized behind the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession, aiming to achieve a 'Zero Waste Event' status. This campaign saw enthusiastic participation from local citizens, underscoring their growing awareness about sanitation.

Praise on 'Swachh Bharat Urban X'

The Ministry of Urban Development of the Government of India, while appreciating the campaign on its X (formerly Twitter) page, stated, “A special sanitation campaign was conducted by the Narmadapuram Municipality of Madhya Pradesh during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession with public participation. Many people cooperated in this campaign. This campaign was prepared as a Zero Waste Event. This shows the awareness of the common citizen towards cleanliness.”

The public acknowledgement, carried out under the guidance of Municipal President Neetu Mahendra Yadav and Chief Municipal Officer Vaibhav Deshmukh, has boosted the morale of the municipality's members and employees.

Ambition for National Recognition

Anurag Tiwari, the nodal officer for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, stated that the municipality's goal for this year is to become number one in the country in terms of cleanliness.

Municipal President Neetu Mahendra Yadav expressed her delight at the commendation, noting that the sharing of the municipality's sanitation campaign images by the Union Ministry of Urban Development is a matter of pride for the city's residents. She lauded the citizens who contributed to maintaining the city's cleanliness through this special sanitation drive, setting a unique example.

The president emphasized that the campaign would not have been successful without the active involvement of the citizens.
