In anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season, Narmadapuram Municipality has initiated a special campaign to streamline the city's sanitation system and combat potential waterlogging issues. On Wednesday morning, Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Vaibhav Deshmukh conducted a detailed inspection of various city areas to assess current sanitation readiness.

During the inspection, CMO Deshmukh provided essential directives to the concerned officials and sanitation workers. The aim is to ensure citizens do not face any inconvenience during the rainy season. He specifically focused on areas prone to water accumulation during monsoon periods, thoroughly examining the condition of drains and issuing instructions for immediate steps to maintain smooth drainage.

During the inspection, CMO Vaibhav Deshmukh also visited prominent market areas to assess the current condition of drains and canals cleared under the sanitation campaign. He instructed officials to promptly remove any obstructions identified in the drainage system.

Furthermore, directives were issued to ensure regular cleaning of drain manholes to prevent water stagnation during rainfall. The CMO urged the sanitation team to remain on 'alert mode', highlighting the necessity of continuous monitoring of the sanitation system during the rainy days.

He explained that accumulated garbage in drains obstructs water flow, leading to waterlogging. Therefore, every sanitation worker must regularly inspect their assigned area and immediately report any issues to the Municipality administration, underscoring the need for active intervention to keep the drainage system functioning smoothly.
