Narmadapuram Gears Up for Unique 'Samskar Kavadi Yatra'
Narmadapuram town is set to host the 'Namami Devi Narmade Samskar Kavadi Yatra' on August 22. This distinctive procession will witness an unprecedented fusion of devotion and environmental protection.
One 'kavadi' (a type of ceremonial bier) will carry sacred Narmada River water, while another will bear a thriving sapling. The primary objective of this journey is to promote the conservation of the Narmada River alongside encouraging tree plantation.
The grand kavadi procession is scheduled to commence at 2:00 PM from Vivekananda Ghat and will culminate at the ancient Shri Kale Mahadev Temple. Upon arrival at the temple, devotees will perform the Rudrabhishek ritual.
Extensive Volunteer Participation Expected
Following the Rudrabhishek, all volunteers and devotees participating in the yatra will engage in a tree-planting drive. It is estimated that over 8,000 to 10,000 volunteers will contribute to this sacred endeavor.
Extensive Preparations and Decisions Made
A significant meeting was recently held at the Janpad Panchayat office to finalize the arrangements for the 'Namami Devi Narmade Samskar Kavadi Yatra'. Senior social workers, public representatives, and a large number of volunteers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, various crucial decisions were made to ensure the yatra is more grand and impactful. Organizers shared their past experiences and offered valuable suggestions for the successful execution of the procession.
Call for Widespread Participation
Nagar Palika Chairperson Neetu Mahendra Yadav urged all devotees to participate in the yatra. She encouraged citizens from her ward and across the entire town to be a part of this event.
She also called upon the attending councilors to mobilize maximum participation from their respective wards. This kavadi yatra aims not only to express reverence for the Narmada but also to strengthen the sense of collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.
Distinguished Attendees at the Meeting
The meeting saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Amitabh Srivastava, Coordinator of the Divisional Headquarters Bhopal of Jan Abhiyan Parishad; Kauhalesh Tiwari, Narmadapuram Divisional Coordinator; Pt. Piyush Sharma, State President of the Swimming Association; Devendra Pratap Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM); Neetu Yadav, Nagar Palika Chairperson; and Bhupendra Chouksey, Janpad Panchayat President. They all shared their views on the kavadi yatra.
Also present were various councilors, members, volunteers, and a large number of Bharatiya Janata Party workers. At the conclusion of the meeting, BJP leader Mahendra Yadav expressed his gratitude to all the guests and workers present.
