The affected company is a major manufacturer of industrial explosives, supplying materials for mining and infrastructure projects. These include detonators and explosive cartridges.

This incident follows a major fire at a nearby factory last year, prompting renewed concerns regarding safety protocols within the industrial belt. Authorities have launched a probe to determine the cause of the explosion, even as search and recovery efforts continue amidst thick smoke and debris.

The bodies of the deceased are expected to be transferred to the Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examinations.
