Continuous heavy rainfall has caused the Murajua River to flood, submerging the Gau Ghat bridge and stranding a truck amidst the dangerous currents.

Heavy, continuous rainfall in and around Amarpatan, Madhya Pradesh, has caused the Murajua River to surge. The water level of this river, which flows through the Tala police station area, has reached dangerous heights.
The Gau Ghat bridge in Mukundpur is now completely submerged. Approximately ten feet of water is flowing over the bridge, leading to a complete disruption of traffic on this route.
Truck Stranded Amidst Floodwaters
In a perilous situation late at night, a truck driver attempted to cross the bridge despite the strong current. Midway across, the truck malfunctioned and began to sink as the water level rose.
The driver, demonstrating quick thinking, managed to exit the vehicle and swim to safety. This timely action prevented a potentially major accident.
Rising Water Levels and Uncertainty
As the rainfall continues, the water level of the Murajua River is steadily increasing. Local residents are expressing concern as they observe the powerful flow of water over the bridge.
The stranded truck remains half-submerged in the water. Locals are warning that attempting to cross the river or bridge under these conditions is life-threatening.
Call for Administrative Action
Residents are appealing to the administration to immediately increase surveillance at the site, halt all vehicle movement across the bridge, and implement necessary measures to ensure public safety.
Given the rising waters of the Murajua River and the strong currents at Gau Ghat bridge, the administration and police must urgently advise people against crossing. The bridge's true condition is difficult to ascertain at night, posing a severe risk of vehicles being swept away.
For now, residents are closely monitoring the river's water level amidst the ongoing rain. The stranded truck will require the water level to recede before it can be safely removed.
