Encroachment on Drain Demolished Following Collector's Strict Orders
Narmadapuram municipality's team took decisive action on August 5, 2026, demolishing an encroachment that had been built over a drain. This action was taken after receiving firm instructions from the Collector.
During the operation, a long-standing land dispute between two parties concerning the area was also inspected on-site. Anurag Tiwari, the Swachhta Nodal Officer, stated that the action was initiated to resolve a complaint received during a public hearing.
The complainant had highlighted an illegal occupation on a drain in Ward No. 30, prompting the municipality to act swiftly. The authorities quickly acknowledged the complaint and planned immediate action to prevent waterlogging and related issues for the citizens.
The Collector's directives, emphasizing prompt and effective resolution of public grievances, motivated the municipality to address this matter without delay. This demonstrates the local administration's seriousness in tackling public problems and its readiness to provide solutions.
Bulldozer Clears Encroachment on Drain
The municipality's team reached the site and removed the encroachment that was obstructing the drain. This action highlighted the promptness of the local administration.
The encroachment was not only hindering drainage but also contributing to the accumulation of garbage and the spread of diseases. The municipal staff worked diligently to clear this obstruction, bringing relief to the local residents.
Chief Municipal Officer Vaibhav Deshmukh, Tehsildar Sunil Sharma, and RI Gajendra Jat were present during the action, underscoring its importance. This move was a significant step towards improving the city's drainage system.
With the drain now cleared, the problem of waterlogging is expected to reduce during the monsoon season, offering considerable relief to the area's residents. This encroachment had existed for a considerable time, with local residents repeatedly complaining about it.
The issue was brought to the administration's attention once again through the public hearing, which ultimately led to this concrete action. The municipality aims to ensure smoother water flow and prevent future occurrences of waterlogging.
Resolution of Land Dispute
Shri Tiwari further informed that alongside the demolition of the encroachment, the municipality's team also addressed a property dispute between two parties.
Both parties have been instructed to appear at the municipality office with all necessary documents for an impartial investigation and a proper resolution. The objective of this inspection was to understand the root causes of the dispute and find an amicable solution.
It was observed that a portion of the disputed land was situated along the drain, which led to the encroachment issue. A fair decision can only be reached after hearing both parties' claims and examining the relevant documents.
The municipality will act as a mediator to resolve this matter and prevent such disputes in the future. It will be ensured that both parties receive justice and no injustice is done to either side. The concerned officials emphasized that all legal procedures will be followed, and the decision will be evidence-based.
