Municipal Chairperson Reviews Development and Civic Amenities in Ramnivas Singh Ward

Katni | July 21, 2026: In a bid to ensure better basic facilities for citizens within the municipal area, Municipal Chairperson Manish Pathak conducted a thorough inspection of various areas in Ramnivas Singh Ward on Tuesday. He reviewed the progress of ongoing development works, sanitation, road conditions, lighting, and other civic amenities.

The Chairperson engaged directly with local residents, listened to their problems, and instructed the concerned officials for swift resolution. This visit underscores the municipality's active role in resolving public issues and strengthening the city's infrastructure. Pathak specifically focused on potential rain-related disruptions and directed officials to take immediate action.

Immediate Road Repairs Ordered for Monsoon Challenges

During the inspection, Municipal Chairperson Manish Pathak observed the dilapidated condition of the road from Lakshmi Pan Bhandar to Jai Hind Chowk following the completion of a sewer line installation. Heavy traffic disruptions were occurring on this route due to the monsoon.

He directed officials and representatives involved in the sewer project to immediately undertake Ground Surface Treatment (GST) work where the sewer line installation is complete, restoring the road to its normal condition. This is to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience while commuting during the rainy season. The Chairperson emphasized the need to complete the remaining sewer works within the stipulated timeframe and with quality.

Assurance of Prompt Resolution for Citizen Grievances

The Municipal Chairperson held direct consultations with local residents regarding sanitation, drinking water supply, and other essential amenities. Taking the reported issues seriously, he instructed the on-site Zonal Inspector, Sangeet Sharma, to prioritize and resolve all complaints.

Pathak stressed that the municipality's responsibility extends beyond development projects to providing a clean environment, regular cleanliness, and necessary facilities as its highest priority. He directed officials to maintain continuous sanitation in the area and act promptly on citizen complaints.

Emphasis on Upgrading Crematorium Facilities

Municipal Chairperson Manish Pathak also inspected the crematorium in Ramnivas Singh Ward. He expressed concern over the waterlogging issues within the premises during the monsoon, which were causing difficulties for citizens during funeral ceremonies, and discussed permanent solutions.

He deliberated with the Zonal Sub-Engineer, Himanshu Gautam, on a proposal to install paver blocks in the crematorium complex. The Chairperson stated that providing better basic facilities at sensitive locations like crematoriums is a significant responsibility of the municipality, assuring that necessary steps will be taken promptly to prevent any inconvenience to citizens during funeral rites.

Instructions to Strengthen Lighting for Safe Night Commute

During his inspection, the Municipal Chairperson also reviewed the lighting system along the road from Lakshmi Pan Bhandar to Jai Hind Chowk. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure adequate street lighting in this area to provide citizens with safe and easy passage during the night.

Pathak mentioned that continuous monitoring is underway to improve basic facilities in every ward of the city, with a priority on resolving issues related to waterlogging, roads, and sanitation, particularly during the monsoon season.

Commitment to Prioritizing Public Amenities

In his statement, Municipal Chairperson Manish Pathak reiterated that the municipality's primary objective is not just to carry out development work but to deliver necessary facilities to every citizen on time. He emphasized that the swift and effective resolution of public issues is his highest priority.

He issued clear directives to officials and implementing agencies to complete all construction and development works with quality and within the stipulated deadlines. Continuous monitoring of works will be undertaken to ensure that citizens receive high-quality facilities. Present during the inspection were District Planning Committee Member and Councilor Shashikant Tiwari, Sub-Engineer Himanshu Gautam, Hardik Patel and Parth Patel from the Sewer Project, Vishal Saini from PDMC, Navil Patel from the Amrit Yojana, along with Sanjay Gupta and Vicky.
