Munavvar Khan from Gonda Appointed DIG and Principal Chief Security Commissioner in RPF

RPF Appointment

Munavvar Khan, a resident of Gonda, was appointed to the prestigious positions of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Principal Chief Security Commissioner in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on September 23, 2026. With this appointment, he has been entrusted with the significant responsibility of RPF security arrangements for the East Coast Railway Zone, headquartered in Bhubaneswar.

At the zonal level of Indian Railways, the Principal Chief Security Commissioner (PCSC) is the chief official of the RPF and leads the force within their jurisdiction. Munavvar Khan's current posting is under this crucial role, vital for ensuring the safety of railway property and passengers.

Education and Early Career

Munavvar Khan's educational journey began in Gonda. He received his initial education from Gandhi Vidyalaya Railway Inter College. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at Thomson Inter College and Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College. He also studied and served for a period at Jamia. During this time, he prepared for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, through which he was selected for the RPF. He began his service career in the post of Assistant Commandant.

Service Tenure and Promotions

Throughout his service, Munavvar Khan has served in several key positions within the RPF. He has rendered his services as Senior Divisional Security Commissioner in prominent divisions such as Jaipur, Jagadhri, Jabalpur, and Howrah. His experience across these diverse divisions has prepared him for this significant zonal-level responsibility. As Principal Chief Security Commissioner, he will now lead the overall security strategy for a major railway zone.
