Mumbai Police Book Farhan Akhtar’s Mother’s Driver for Rs 12 Lakh Fuel Card Fraud

Mumbai Police have registered a case against Honey Irani’s driver, Naresh Singh, and petrol pump employee Arun Singh for allegedly misusing fuel cards worth Rs 12 lakh. The driver is accused of repeatedly swiping the cards at a Bandra petrol pump without actually filling the vehicles, with the petrol pump staff allegedly providing cash in return.

The FIR (No. 1668/2025), filed on October 1, 2025, by Honey Irani’s manager Diya Bhatia, states that the fraudulent activity occurred between April 2022 and September 2025. Investigations revealed that vehicles with 35-litre tank capacities were showing refills of up to 62 litres.

Naresh Singh reportedly admitted to the malpractice, which has been registered under Sections 3(5), 316(2), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, covering cheating, fraud, and criminal breach of trust. The total estimated loss is around Rs 12 lakh.
