These are not isolated events. In Narsinghpur, a woman was arrested on June 30 for allegedly killing her husband, Tulsiram, with her lover's assistance.

Over 15 Cases in Six Months Point to a Deeper Issue

Between January and July 10, 2026, over 15 cases of wives allegedly murdering their husbands have been reported across Madhya Pradesh. Investigations consistently point to the involvement of lovers or hired individuals.

The Indore businessman Naveen Patidar's death was initially ruled a road accident. However, a post-mortem revealed a gunshot. His wife, Bharti Patidar, and her alleged lover, Rahul, are accused of hiring contract killers for ₹15 lakh to carry out the murder.

In Ujjain, farmer Bharat Singh's wife, Sonakuwar, and their neighbour, Jitendra Singh, are accused of his murder. Investigators believe their five-year romantic relationship and disputes over land led to the crime.

The disappearance of Dhanraj Nath in Mandsaur led to his wife, Dhapu Bai, and Pankaj Chaudhary being named as main accused. Police allege they strangled him, dismembered his body, and buried it in a pit dug by a JCB machine to destroy evidence.
