MP Police Seize Over ₹83 Lakhs Worth of Narcotics in 5 Days

Statewide Anti-Narcotics Operation Yields Major Seizures

Bhopal | August 11, 2026 The Madhya Pradesh Police, as part of their ongoing campaign against drug trafficking and illegal trade, have conducted extensive operations across the state over the past five days. These operations have resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and vehicles used in trafficking, valued at over ₹83,97,000. Large hauls of Doda Chura, opium, MD drugs, brown sugar, and illegal intoxicating cough syrup were confiscated during this period.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Cell of the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters, the state's campaign against drugs has been intensified. Significant quantities of illegal substances have been seized in actions taken in various districts. The police aim to dismantle the entire chain of the illegal drug trade, and no guilty party will be spared in this endeavor.

Key Operations Across Districts

Mandsaur District

The Mandsaur district police carried out effective actions in different police station areas. Afjalpur Police Station arrested two individuals and seized 62 kg 840 grams of Doda Chura, estimated to be worth approximately ₹1,25,000. Meanwhile, Bhavgarh Police Station took action against inter-state opium smugglers, recovering 3 kg of opium, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone, with a total value estimated at around ₹6,60,000. Additionally, Sitamaau Police Station seized 529 kg 690 grams of Doda Chura and a Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle used in trafficking, valued at approximately ₹15,59,000. In total, assets worth about ₹23,44,000 were seized in these three operations.

Neemuch District

As part of the ongoing campaign against drug smugglers, the Neemuch police, in an operation by Ratan Garh Police Station, seized 4 kg 100 grams of illegal opium. Two accused were arrested in this action, with assets worth approximately ₹20,50,000 seized.

Indore Commissionerate

The Indore Police Commissionerate conducted special operations in two different locations as part of its special campaign against the purchase, sale, and trafficking of illegal narcotics. In the Super Corridor area, police apprehended two individuals and seized 103.55 grams of MD drugs and a Honda Hornet motorcycle, with a total value of approximately ₹11,80,000. In a separate action near Bhandari Bridge, one accused was arrested with 54.70 grams of MD drugs and other items, valued at approximately ₹5,40,000. A total of ₹17,20,000 worth of assets were seized in these two operations.

Rewa District

The Rewa police, under 'Operation Prahar 2.0', seized 1,410 bottles of illegal intoxicating Onrex cough syrup being transported in a luxury car. The estimated value of this consignment is approximately ₹13,83,000.

Ujjain District

The Ghattiya Police Station in Ujjain district seized 33 kg 550 grams of illegal Doda Chura hidden in passenger bags and trolley bags. Its estimated value in the international market is approximately ₹5,00,000.

Vidisha District

The Dehat Ganjbasoda Police Station in Vidisha arrested a former smuggler and a female accused. They recovered 25 grams of brown sugar from their possession, valued at approximately ₹4,00,000.

Police's Firm Commitment Against Drugs

The Madhya Pradesh Police have made it clear that they are fully committed to eradicating the illegal drug trade in the state. The statement from the Police Headquarters' Public Relations Cell detailed these actions and emphasized that the campaign against drugs will continue unabated. The Director General of Police (or relevant official's designation, if available) stated that any individual involved in the trafficking, storage, or sale of narcotics will not be spared under any circumstances. Such stringent actions will instill fear among illegal traders and tighten the noose on drug dealers.

The police have also appealed to the general public for active cooperation. Citizens are encouraged to immediately report any illegal narcotic activity to the local police. This public participation will significantly contribute to building a drug-free, safe, and healthy Madhya Pradesh.
