Bhopal | August 5, 2026 - In a significant move to effectively curb property-related offenses, Madhya Pradesh Police have recovered stolen assets exceeding ₹1.5 crore within the past fortnight. This operation, conducted across various districts, has led to the recovery of stolen jewelry, mobile phones, vehicles, cash, and other items.

The successful campaign is attributed to the use of technical evidence, swift investigations, and effective policing strategies, which have tightened the noose on criminals in the state. The recoveries highlight a multi-pronged approach by law enforcement.

Recoveries Across Various Districts

Indore Police Uncover Theft Rings

Indore Police have busted a gang involved in stealing belongings from bags in e-autos. The recovered assets, including stolen gold and silver jewelry and the Mahindra e-auto used in the crimes, are valued at approximately ₹24 lakh. The gang's leader hails from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, Junni Indore Police arrested a woman who stole from homes while posing as a caretaker, recovering gold and silver jewelry and cash worth around ₹10 lakh. In total, Indore Police seized over ₹34 lakh in assets in these operations, utilizing technical evidence effectively.

Ujjain and Katni Police Make Arrests

In Ujjain district, Khachrod Police solved a theft case, arresting three individuals, including the mastermind, and recovering stolen gold and silver jewelry worth approximately ₹33 lakh.

Katni district's Barhi Police, using technical evidence, successfully cracked a theft case, apprehending one accused and seizing gold and silver jewelry worth about ₹25 lakh, along with the Swift car used in the crime.

Inter-State Gangs Targeted

Guna Police Apprehend Jewel Thieves

Guna Police successfully arrested 11 individuals from two inter-state gangs from Agra, who were stealing necklaces (mangalsutras) from women during the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra. The seized property includes two necklaces and two cars, valued at approximately ₹20 lakh.

Ashoknagar Police Recover Stolen Goods

Ashoknagar Police revealed a theft, seizing stolen goods and two motorcycles worth about ₹13.35 lakh and arresting four accused. In another operation, the same district's police apprehended two inter-district accused involved in a daylight chain-snatching incident, recovering two gold chains worth approximately ₹6 lakh.

In total, Ashoknagar Police seized over ₹18.35 lakh in assets across these two operations.

Khargone Police Nab Phone Thieves

Khargone Police arrested two members of the Pardhi gang for stealing mobile phones from pockets in the vegetable market area. They seized 09 expensive mobile phones and a motorcycle used in the crime, totaling approximately ₹4.55 lakh.

Bhopal Rural SIT Solves Temple Thefts

The SIT of Bhopal Rural Police solved 12 temple theft cases, arresting 6 accused, including a wanted criminal. They recovered 16 silver crowns and other valuables worth approximately ₹4 lakh.

Jabalpur GRP Seizes Jewelry

The GRP Jabalpur team arrested a cunning criminal and seized stolen jewelry worth approximately ₹3.52 lakh.

Shajapur Police Recover Assets in Multiple Cases

In Shajapur district, Berchha Police seized gold and silver jewelry worth ₹58,500, while Sunehra Police solved a theft within 24 hours, recovering property worth ₹1 lakh. Mohan Badodiya Police arrested three individuals in a gas godown theft case, recovering 05 domestic gas cylinders, a motorcycle, and mobile phones worth about ₹1 lakh.

In total, Shajapur Police seized over ₹2.58 lakh in assets across these three operations.

Khandwa and Chhindwara Police Cases

Khandwa district's Mandhata police station Morattakka arrested an accused stealing iron centering plates from a railway bridge, seizing 10 plates and an auto-rickshaw worth approximately ₹2.20 lakh.

In Chhindwara district, Umra Nala Police solved three theft cases, arresting three accused and recovering stolen property including motorcycles, an Activa, and mobile phones worth about ₹1.50 lakh.

Rajgarh Police 'Operation Chakshu' Success

Rajgarh district's Sarangpur Police, under 'Operation Chakshu', used technical evidence to solve a bag theft incident on a bus, arresting one accused and recovering stolen property valued at approximately ₹62,000.
