MP Police Recovers Over 1,100 Lost Mobile Phones

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Madhya Pradesh Police has brought significant relief to citizens by recovering and returning 1,195 mobile phones that were lost or stolen in the past two weeks. The recovered devices are collectively valued at over ₹1 crore 39 lakh.

Effective Use of Technology in Recoveries

The police department effectively utilized the CEIR portal, the Citizen Cop app, and other cyber technologies for these successful recoveries. The return of these mobile phones, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan, has brought smiles to the faces of a large number of citizens. This initiative highlights the continuous efforts by the police across the state to track down and recover lost and stolen mobile phones.

'Mission Mobile Recovery' Yields Results

The statewide 'Mission Mobile Recovery' initiative, along with campaigns like 'Mission Mobile Recovery' and 'Operation Ringtone 2.0' conducted in various districts, has achieved remarkable success. This demonstrates the commitment of the police in reuniting citizens with their valuable devices.

District-Wise Recovery Highlights

• Vidisha Police seized 537 mobile phones, estimated to be worth ₹1 crore 10 lakh 8 thousand.
• Indore Crime Branch, with the aid of the CEIR portal and technical resources, recovered 238 mobile phones valued at approximately ₹75 lakh.
• Zone-1 and Zone-2 Indore Police jointly returned over 63 mobile phones to their owners, bringing the total recovery in Indore district to 352 mobile phones.
• Agar Malwa Police seized 125 mobile phones under 'Operation Ringtone 2.0', with an estimated value of ₹24 lakh.
• Ashoknagar Police also returned 130 lost mobile phones to citizens, presenting a special gift.
• Alirajpur Police confiscated 33 mobile phones during a concentrated operation, valued at around ₹5 lakh.

Arrests and Further Recoveries

• Khargone Police arrested 2 individuals in connection with mobile thefts during the Jaitapur Shivdola procession, recovering 3 stolen mobile phones worth approximately ₹60,000.
• GRP Jabalpur Police apprehended a notorious mobile thief and seized 10 Android mobile phones of various brands, valued at about ₹1 lakh 14 thousand.
• GRP Bhopal confiscated 5 stolen mobile phones as part of action against criminals active on trains and platforms.

Appeal to Citizens

This operation by the Madhya Pradesh Police not only helps in returning lost valuables but also showcases the effective use of technological resources and their firm commitment against criminals. The police have appealed to citizens to lodge an immediate complaint at the nearest police station in case of any lost or stolen mobile phone and to get the IMEI blocked on the CEIR portal.
