Major Success in Crime Control
The Madhya Pradesh Police have achieved a significant success in crime control, cracking down on criminal activities across two key districts: Pandhurna and Panna. In a joint operation, police have arrested a total of sixteen accused and confiscated property valued at approximately 87 lakh rupees, dealing a major blow to inter-state theft gangs operating in the region.
Pandhurna Jewel Heist Uncovered
In Pandhurna district, police have solved a sensational robbery at Vinay Jewellers in Gujri Chowk, which occurred on the night of October 9th and 10th. The perpetrators had attacked and injured the shop owner, Rajesh Kharbade, before fleeing with valuable jewelry and a substantial amount of cash. A special team, operating under the direction of Superintendent of Police Vidita Dagar, swiftly apprehended six accused based on technical evidence and informant tips.
One of the arrested individuals has been taken into custody for purchasing the stolen jewelry. Police have recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments, 2.20 lakh rupees in cash, and two vehicles used in the crime. The total value of these seized assets is estimated at 45 lakh rupees.
Panna Theft Ring Exposed During Rath Yatra
Meanwhile, in Panna district, police have also addressed theft and chain-snatching incidents that occurred during a religious Rath Yatra in Amanganj on October 12th. Taking advantage of the large crowd, thieves carried out their crimes. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Nivedita Naidu, the cyber cell and CCTV footage were thoroughly reviewed.
Based on this investigation, police arrested ten members of an inter-state gang, comprising five men and five women, primarily from states like Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Searches yielded jewelry worth 11 lakh rupees, cash, various mobile phones, and three luxury cars from the accused. Preliminary investigations suggest the gang used social media to gather information about crowded events and then targeted devotees and citizens.
Ongoing Investigations and Public Advisory
Currently, police are actively searching for other members of the gangs and conducting detailed investigations into their potential criminal activities in both cases. To maintain law and order and ensure public safety, the police have urged the public to exercise extra caution with their valuables in crowded public places.
