Pensioners Receive Long-Awaited Relief

Rajya Sabha MP Maya Narolia met with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. During the meeting, she inquired about his well-being and received guidance on various organizational, public welfare, and developmental matters.

MP Narolia specifically submitted a letter expressing gratitude to Home Minister Amit Shah on behalf of lakhs of retired employees from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and the 'Bharat Pensioners Samaj'. This letter addressed the permanent resolution of administrative uncertainty and discrepancies that have plagued the distribution of Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners for the past two decades.

Addressing Long-Standing Administrative Hurdles

The root of this problem lay in the statutory obligation under Section 49(6) of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000. This section led to complexities in relief payments for pensioners due to a lack of mutual agreement between the two states.

MP Narolia informed that under the sensitive leadership and skilled guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the mandatory requirement of mutual agreement between the two states has now been abolished. Instead, the prompt and uninterrupted distribution of Dearness Relief will be ensured directly through executive orders from the central payable date.

Positive Impact on Pensioners

This decision will free pensioners from administrative hurdles, enabling them to receive their Dearness Relief payments on time. Following the meeting, MP Maya Narolia lauded the efficient leadership, firm resolve, and extensive organizational experience of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.

She stated that the entire pensioner community will forever be indebted to the Home Minister for this decision, which provides mental strength and economic stability to those who have dedicated their lives to nation-building.

This step is being seen as a significant relief for pensioners who have been struggling with this disparity for the past twenty years.
