MP Highlights Digital Connectivity Gaps in Tribal Regions

Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Maya Narolia met Union Minister for Communications and Development of North-Eastern Region, Shriyut Jyotiraditya Scindia, in Delhi. She drew his attention to the critical problem of mobile network and internet connectivity in the remote tribal and rural areas of the Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad) district.

During the cordial meeting, MP Narolia presented the Union Minister with a bouquet and a memento, engaging in a positive discussion on various development-related issues concerning the region. Through a formal letter, she informed the minister that the lack of network in villages of the Kesla block and areas bordering the Satpura region is hindering not only the education and digital learning of students but also causing significant difficulties for farmers in accessing facilities like e-procurement, online registration, and digital transactions (UPI), despite it being a predominantly agricultural area.

Urgent Need for Digital Connectivity in Remote Areas

Prioritizing public welfare, Mrs. Narolia requested the Union Minister to conduct a survey on an urgent basis in the Kesla block and surrounding forest and rural areas. She emphasized that the deficiency in mobile network and internet connectivity directly impacts the quality of life and economic activities of the local residents.

She further urged for the approval to establish new BSNL mobile towers and connect these areas with 5G services. This initiative, she stated, would enable local residents to benefit from modern communication facilities and support the adoption of digital solutions in crucial sectors like education, health, and agriculture.

During the interaction, MP Narolia highly lauded Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's leadership in the unprecedented expansion of 'Digital Connectivity' across India, particularly its transformative impact on the North-Eastern states. She highlighted how efficient leadership and effective policies are bringing even the most remote corners of the country into the fold of the digital revolution.
