Balaghat Cops Face Action

Details of the Suspensions
ASI Ramkishore Rahangdale, posted at Kotwali police station, was suspended for laughing during the review without a valid reason. He also failed to provide satisfactory answers about pending complaints.
ASI Pendarilal Ahake, from Kati police station, was found chewing paan during the same review and was unable to provide updates on his assigned cases.
Indiscipline and Insensitivity
The suspension orders state that both officers displayed conduct "indicative of indiscipline" during the official review.
One appeared casual, while the other was unresponsive on crucial case details. Departmental inquiries have been initiated against both officers.
They have been attached to the reserve center pending further proceedings.
SP Mishra's Statement
Balaghat SP Aditya Mishra emphasized the seriousness of the situation.
"Primary issue was not the indiscipline but the insensitivity about the issue. The video conferencing was regarding review of CM Helpline complaints of missing kids."
He further explained that one officer was laughing with his station incharge and had no update or case diary for his assigned case. The other officer was chewing paan, also lacking updates.
Focus on Missing Children
SP Mishra highlighted the sensitivity of missing children cases. "The issue of missing children is very sensitive - if a family loses its child, only they can understand the trauma."
He mentioned an intensive campaign to trace missing children. 20 children have been traced and recovered in the past 15 days, including one from Nepal.
Authorities are hopeful of tracing and recovering another 25 missing kids in the next 7 days.
SP Mishra clarified that action was taken against other negligent officials as well.
