Monsoon Showers Brighten Farmlands in Badnawar as Independence Day Preparations Begin with Tiranga Marches

Rainfall Revives Crops, Exceeding 18 Inches This Season

Badnawar and surrounding areas experienced intermittent rainfall until Wednesday morning, bringing a wave of relief to farmers. The downpour has replenished water sources and promises a bountiful soybean harvest, raising hopes across the region.

According to data from the Land Records Branch, over 61.4 millimeters (approximately 2.25 inches) of rain was recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 6 AM on Wednesday. This brings the total rainfall for the current monsoon season in Badnawar to over 468.2 millimeters (18 inches). Despite the daytime clearing, farmers are optimistic about their crops.

Patriotic Zeal Ignites in Kanwan, Grand Tiranga March Planned for Badnawar

As Independence Day approaches, the spirit of patriotism is palpable with a series of Tiranga (Tricolor) marches across the region. On Wednesday, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Fans Club organized a grand Tiranga march in Kanwan, drawing a large participation of enthusiastic youth.

The march, which began from Santoshi Mata Dharamshala, was filled with patriotic songs played over DJs and the rhythmic beats of drums. Participants waved the Indian flag, chanting slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" (Victory to Mother India). The procession was met with a shower of flowers along its route, creating an atmosphere of national pride throughout the village. The march concluded with an Aarti (ritualistic worship) of Bharat Mata. Rajpal Singh Solanki of the club expressed gratitude to all who supported the event.

In a similar vein, a grand Tiranga march is scheduled for Thursday in Badnawar town, organized by the Nagar Parishad (Municipal Council). The march is set to commence at 3:30 PM from Shri Baijnath Mahadev Temple and will traverse the main streets of the city. Students from various schools and local residents are expected to participate. All necessary arrangements for the march have been completed.

Hariyali Amavasya Celebrated with Tree Plantation and Religious Rituals

On the occasion of Hariyali Amavasya (Green New Moon), a tree plantation drive was held at Shri Krishna Vatika and Balram Dham, near Nageshwar Dham. Local representatives, administrative officials, and dignitaries planted saplings, pledging their commitment to environmental conservation.

Among those present were Nagar Parishad Chairperson Meena Shekhar Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Priyanka Mimrot, Tehsildar Suresh Nagar, Chief Municipal Officer Vikas Dawar, and Vice-Chairman Rajendra Singh Pawar. All participants vowed to plant more trees and ensure their regular care. Following the plantation, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the construction of toilets, estimated to cost around 15 lakh rupees, within the premises of the ancient Devanarayan Temple. The construction was inaugurated by the Nagar Parishad Chairperson and other guests by cutting a ribbon and using shovels, with local councilor representative Santosh Rao and many devotees in attendance.

Furthermore, religious ceremonies were conducted at the Maa Ekveera Mataji Temple complex to mark Hariyali Amavasya. A large number of devotees participated in the grand Mahamaha Aarti (grand ritualistic worship) of the Goddess in the morning, seeking blessings. The occasion featured offerings of '56 Bhog' (a traditional offering of 56 food items) and 'Nugdi Prasad' (a sweet delicacy). A communal feast ('Mahaprasadi and Bhandara') was organized at 11 AM after the Mahamaha Aarti, where many devotees partook in the offerings. The temple premises remained immersed in a devotional atmosphere throughout the day.

Shiv Mahapuran Katha Enters Second Day, Concludes on August 17

The seven-day musical recitation of Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha, ongoing at Sanjog Garden in Saraswati Colony, entered its second day. Katha narrator Pandit Manmohan Kashyap Agnihotri shed light on the glory of Lord Shiva, the significance of worshipping the Parthiv Shivling (earthen Shivling), the importance of a Guru, and the value of Rudraksha beads.

He emphasized that regular devotional singing and chanting make life meaningful, stressing that devotion should be mental rather than purely physical. The narrator also highlighted that a Katha session is truly beneficial only when it addresses a deficiency in life and brings about positive changes in an individual's conduct. He urged the audience to express gratitude towards soldiers and cows and to offer prayers for them daily. The seven-day Katha will conclude on August 17 with a Mahamaha Aarti and a communal feast. The Katha sessions continue daily from 12 PM to 3 PM, fostering a religious fervor in Saraswati Colony and surrounding areas.

District Judge Inspects Badnawar Sub-Jail

District Judge and Chairman of the Tehsil Legal Services Authority, G.C. Mishra, along with Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Judge Pradeep Kumar Soni, conducted an inspection of the Badnawar Sub-Jail on Wednesday.

During the inspection, the judges engaged in direct dialogue with the inmates to understand their issues and difficulties. They thoroughly reviewed the quality of food, availability of health facilities, visitation arrangements, and other provisions related to the production of prisoners in court. Judge Pradeep Kumar Soni informed the inmates about the free legal aid scheme and explained the legal provisions relevant to their cases. Sub-Jail Superintendent Manoj Kumar Mishra, PLV (Para Legal Volunteer) Jayesh Rajpurohit, and other jail staff were also present during the inspection.
