Modern Dome Construction Begins at Khargone Fish Market

In a significant step towards modernizing the fish market located in Ward No. 17 of Khargone city, the Khargone Municipality has initiated the construction of a modern dome (shed and platform) at a cost of ₹36.88 lakh. On Wednesday, Municipal President Mrs. Chhaya Arun Joshi performed a ritualistic puja and laid the foundation stone for this long-awaited project, officially commencing the construction work.

Improved Facilities for Vendors and Consumers

The completion of this project is expected to provide a better working environment for fish vendors and offer consumers a safer and more convenient shopping experience. The dome will shield the market from rain and harsh sunlight, while the developed platform will facilitate vendors in storing and selling their produce. This is anticipated to significantly improve the market's hygiene and organization.

Emphasis on Development Works

"The Nagar Parishad is giving top priority to development works in every ward of the city," stated Municipal President Mrs. Chhaya Arun Joshi during the foundation-laying ceremony. She assured that several crucial works related to roads, drainage, and water supply, along with other essential infrastructure, have been approved and will commence soon. Mrs. Joshi added that the council's primary objective is to ensure uniform development across all areas of the city, thereby providing citizens with a better quality of life.

Community Welcomes Initiative

The foundation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Public Works Chairman Dhirendrasingh Chauhan, Corporators Santosh Verma, Jagannath Sanwale, Mahesh Verma, Aldermen Anil Gupta, Purushottam Kumawat, Deepak Karale, Corporator Representatives Arvind Patidar, Sumit Chandel, Ward President Ravi Verma, Chief Municipal Officer Ms. Kamla Kol, Health Officer Prakash Chitte, other municipal officials and employees, and a large number of local residents. The attending public representatives and residents strongly welcomed this initiative for the construction of the dome at the fish market, terming it highly beneficial for both traders and the general public. All expressed hope that upon completion, the market's arrangements will become more smooth, safe, and convenient.
