MLA Meets CM, Demands Additional Compensation for Farmers Affected by Link Expressway Project

MLA Raises Compensation Issue with Chief Minister

Major Sunil Dutt Dwivedi, the MLA from Farrukhabad Sadar and Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings and Corporations of the State Assembly, met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. He highlighted the matter of differential compensation for farmers affected by the Link Expressway project, specifically concerning the payment for land acquired for the project.

The MLA submitted a detailed letter to the Chief Minister outlining the farmers' demands. The land acquired for the Link Expressway project includes both Gram Sabha land and private agricultural land belonging to farmers.

Farmers Demand Revised Compensation

According to the procedure followed by the administration, agricultural land was registered at four times the effective circle rate. However, farmers had long been demanding a revision of the circle rate.

Following the Chief Minister's directive, the district administration revised the circle rate, with the new rates becoming effective from May 9, 2026. Land purchases at the enhanced rates were made on or after this date.

The MLA stated that in Tehsil Amritpur, 316 farmers had their land registered, covering 23.5084 hectares. In Tehsil Sadar, 540 farmers had 43.4948 hectares of land registered. In total, 67.0032 hectares of land belonging to 856 farmers has been acquired for this project.

MLA's Demand and CM's Assurance

Major Sunil Dutt Dwivedi alleged that farmers who had their land registered at the old circle rates received comparatively less compensation.

He urged the Chief Minister to ensure the immediate payment of the differential amount to these farmers, calculated according to the new rates that came into effect on May 9, 2026.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took serious note of this significant point raised by the MLA and assured appropriate action.
