Community Figures Honored for Festival Contributions

Narsinghpur, October 24, 2026 – A grand ceremony organized by the Hindu Utsav Samiti in Narsinghpur recognized individuals who played active roles in major local religious events. This included the Navratri Mahotsav, Ramlila reenactments, Ganesh Utsav, and Dussehra festival.

Various social workers, tableau organizers, akhada masters, and artists were presented with shields and certificates for their outstanding contributions. Special appreciation was extended to the artists behind the creation of the 51-foot-tall effigy of Ravana, a highlight of the Dussehra celebration, acknowledging their tireless efforts and creativity.

In his address, local MLA Mohan Sharma, who also chairs the committee, stated that religious festivals are vibrant symbols of our rich culture and social unity. He stressed that these events bring the community together and promote social harmony.

Mohan Sharma, who has led the committee for the past thirty years, reiterated his commitment to keeping cultural traditions alive. The event saw a large turnout of distinguished citizens, members of the peace committee, and representatives from various social organizations.

New Scheme to Encourage Youth Participation and Grandeur

The MLA announced a significant initiative for the upcoming year: special support and gifts will be provided to organizers who create attractive tableau pandals in the town. This initiative aims to further increase youth participation and give religious events a more organized and outstanding form.

This scheme will provide a platform for local talent and enhance the grandeur of the festivals. The honor ceremony, held for the second consecutive year, was also attended by administrative officials and people's representatives, who boosted the morale of the organizers and honored individuals.

Recognition for Long-Term Contributors

Members of the Ramlila Sanskritik Kala Mandal and former committee chairpersons were also specially recognized for their long-term and invaluable contributions. The townspeople praised the Hindu Utsav Samiti's commendable effort, noting that such events not only strengthen cultural identity but also reinforce the spirit of camaraderie and unity within the community.
