Mirzapur Movie Surges Past Rs 50 Crore on Day 2

The cinematic rendition of the highly popular streaming series, 'Mirzapur: The Movie', has made a strong debut at the box office, surpassing the Rs 50-crore mark domestically by the end of its second day. The film, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu, has resonated with audiences, drawing significant crowds to theatres.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the feature film adaptation saw a robust opening on Friday, September 4. It ran across 11,135 shows, generating a gross collection of Rs 29.70 crore and a nett collection of Rs 25.75 crore. The momentum continued into Saturday, with collections increasing by a notable 24.3 per cent to reach Rs 32 crore nett.

Box Office Performance and Occupancy

The film experienced a steady rise in theatre occupancy throughout its second day. Overall occupancy stood at an impressive 55.88 per cent. Morning shows recorded 25.54 per cent occupancy, which climbed to 55.38 per cent in the afternoon, 59.46 per cent in the evening, and peaked at 83.15 per cent during night shows, indicating strong audience engagement.

Within its first two days, 'Mirzapur: The Movie' has amassed a gross collection of Rs 69.30 crore in India. Coupled with an overseas gross collection of Rs 10.25 crore, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached a total of Rs 79.55 crore.

Star Cast and Production Details

Beyond the lead trio, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chadha, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Sonal Chauhan, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The film was released in Hindi and a Telugu dub on September 4.

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. This cinematic venture extends the narrative of the highly successful 'Mirzapur' web series, which streams on Amazon Prime Video and is currently in development for its fourth season.
