District Magistrate Chairs Project Review Meeting

District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar presided over a detailed review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium concerning the progress of ongoing and completed projects in Mirzapur, each costing over INR 1 crore. The meeting focused on development works displayed on the CMIS (Centralized Project Management Information System) portal, critical gaps, and projects undertaken under the Purvanchal Nidhi Yojana.

Emphasis on Timely and Quality Project Completion

The District Magistrate instructed officials to ensure all development projects are completed in a timely, qualitative, and transparent manner. He stated that any negligence or undue delay would not be tolerated. Information was gathered on the current status, financial and physical progress, and remaining work for projects across various departments.

For projects not progressing at the expected pace, relevant officials were questioned about the reasons for the delay and directed to submit action plans for completion within the stipulated timeframe. Gangwar emphasized the need for regular uploading of accurate and updated project information on the CMIS portal for effective progress monitoring.

Swift Resolution of Project Obstacles

While reviewing pending cases under critical gaps, the District Magistrate stressed the importance of swiftly resolving obstacles hindering development work. He directed the prompt resolution of issues such as land availability, technical sanctions, and utility transfers to prevent delays in project execution. He highlighted that overcoming these hurdles is crucial for the smooth progress of development initiatives.

Focus on Purvanchal Nidhi Yojana and Quality Standards

During the review of projects under the Purvanchal Nidhi Yojana, the District Magistrate noted the scheme's significant importance for regional development. He directed all concerned departments to complete sanctioned works according to quality standards and to regularly monitor each project. He warned implementing agencies that no compromise would be made on construction quality.

Gangwar stated that sub-standard work found during inspections would lead to strict action against the concerned agency and responsible officials as per rules. He also instructed that formalities for completed projects, such as utility certificates, should be expedited to ensure the public benefits quickly. Regular field monitoring and immediate rectification of observed deficiencies were also mandated.

Accountability and Collective Responsibility

The District Magistrate called for collaborative efforts among all department heads, stating that accelerating development projects in the district, as per government intentions, is a collective responsibility. He urged all officials to discharge their duties with utmost seriousness and accountability so that Mirzapur can reach new heights of development. He stressed the importance of visible progress on the ground and timely benefits for the public.

Target for Project Completion

At the end of the meeting, the District Magistrate directed all implementing agencies to complete all ongoing projects by September 10, 2026. If completion by the deadline is not feasible, agencies must correspond with the government to extend the period and update the information on the portal accordingly.

Action Against Absent Officials

Regarding the absence of the District Basic Education Officer and PACs Fed representatives, the District Magistrate ordered that explanations be sought from them. Present at the meeting were Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar, District Economics and Statistics Officer Babu Lal, other concerned officials, and representatives of implementing agencies.
