MH370 SEARCH TO RESUME ON DECEMBER 30 AFTER A DECADE

Malaysia has announced that the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will resume on 30 December, more than ten years after the aircraft disappeared with 239 people on board.

The new search operation, led by US-based exploration firm Ocean Infinity, will run for 55 days. The mission had already begun in March this year but was halted due to bad weather conditions.

According to Malaysia’s Transport Ministry, this renewed effort highlights the government’s commitment to providing closure to families who have waited years for answers.

"No Find, No Fee" Search

• Ocean Infinity will only be paid if it discovers the aircraft.

• The agreed payout is $70 million if the wreckage is located.

BACKGROUND

• MH370, a Boeing 777, vanished on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

• It remains one of the biggest mysteries in aviation history.

• Initial searches (2014–2017) involved 26 countries, 60 ships, and 50 aircraft.

• A 2018 Ocean Infinity search also ended without results.

Investigators previously concluded that the aircraft was likely deliberately diverted, but could not determine who was responsible or why. They stressed that a conclusive answer will only be possible once the wreckage is found.

Families of the missing passengers have long urged the government to restart the search, hoping for closure in a tragedy that has sparked numerous conspiracy theories.
