Meta Brings Deepika Padukone AI Voice, Hindi Support, and UPI Payments to Ray-Ban Meta Glasses

Meta has rolled out a major update for its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, introducing AI-powered features designed for hands-free interaction, Hindi language support, and festive photo enhancements.

Deepika Padukone Joins as Celebrity AI Voice

For the first time, users can interact with Meta AI using the voice of Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, joining a global lineup of celebrity AI voices like Awkwafina and Judi Dench.

  • Users can activate the AI assistant by saying “Hey Meta”.

  • Deepika’s AI voice responds in Indian English, providing trivia, jokes, translations, and more.

  • To switch voices, go to:
    Meta AI app → Device Settings → Meta AI → Language and Voice → Deepika Padukone

This move makes her one of the first Indian actresses lending her voice to an AI platform amid growing concerns around AI-generated deepfakes.

Hindi Language Support

Ray-Ban Meta glasses now allow hands-free Hindi interaction, thanks to Indian AI developer Sarvam.

  • Users can ask questions, take photos, record videos, or answer calls using Hindi commands.

  • Example: “Hey Meta, aaj ka mausam kaisa hai?”

  • Setup path:
    Meta AI app → Device Settings → Meta AI → Language and Voice → Select Hindi

This feature bridges the language gap for millions of Indian users, making AI more accessible.

Diwali Restyle Photos

Ahead of Diwali, Meta introduces festive photo transformations:

  • After taking a picture, say: “Hey Meta, restyle this”

  • Meta AI decorates your photo with fireworks, rangoli effects, and other Diwali-themed visuals

  • Users can view, save, and share these creative images within the app

  • Limited-time feature, adding a fun, festive touch to photos

UPI Lite Payments via Glasses

Meta is testing hands-free UPI Lite payments directly through the glasses:

  • For transactions under ₹1,000, say: “Hey Meta, Scan and Pay”

  • Payment is processed via UPI Lite through a WhatsApp-linked bank account

  • Enables quick, secure, and seamless small purchases without touching a phone or wallet

This update positions Ray-Ban Meta glasses as a smart, voice-driven wearable, blending AI interactivity, local language support, festive creativity, and fintech convenience — all hands-free.
