Mental Health Workshop Held at MJS College

Prime Minister College of Government MJS College, Bhind, organized a one-day workshop on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on October 12, 2026. The event, hosted by the Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Cell, provided students with detailed information on stress management and the importance of a positive lifestyle.

The workshop's central theme was 'Listening to Lived Experiences: Real Voices, Real Change,' aiming to raise awareness about mental disorders and foster positive societal transformation. Keynote speaker Dr. Sakar Tiwari addressed the students, stating that open dialogue about mental health is the first step towards resolving issues. He emphasized that a healthy mind is the foundation of a successful life.

In today's competitive world, students must pay equal attention to maintaining mental balance alongside physical health amidst their studies and future concerns. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness but of courage.

Healthy Mind, Basis of a Successful Life

The second speaker, Dr. Shailendra Parihar, advised viewing life as a continuous learning journey rather than a competition. He highlighted that each individual possesses unique strengths, and self-belief is crucial over comparing oneself to others. Sharing his personal experiences, Dr. Parihar described the mind as a vital bridge between the body and soul, essential for holistic well-being.

Importance of Positive Thinking and Self-Confidence

Facilitating the program, Prof. Mohit Kumar Dubey explained that mental health plays an integral role in developing a person's self-confidence and decision-making abilities. He encouraged students to incorporate habits like yoga, meditation, and positive thinking into their daily routines.

Collectively, the speakers conveyed the message of living a meaningful and fulfilling life through a healthy mind, a message embraced by the students and college staff present. The event was attended by the college principal Dr. Sunil Tripathi, Prof. Mohit Kumar Dubey, Dr. Ashish Gupta, Dr. Abhishek Yadav, Dr. Anita Bansal, and Dr. Rajendra Singh Rathore, along with the entire college staff.
