Bhopal Municipal Corporation imposes a Rs 10,000 fine on a medical store for illegally dumping medical waste in the Semra area.

Medical Store Fined for Improper Waste Disposal
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has levied a Rs 10,000 fine on a medical store for the unlawful disposal of a significant amount of medical waste in the Semra area. This action is part of the corporation's ongoing strict enforcement of solid waste management regulations.
Acting on intelligence gathered from bills and other documents found in the waste, officials identified the store as 'Tarana Medical Store & Surgery', located in the Ashoka Garden area. The Municipal Commissioner, Mrs. Sanskriti Jain, has directed the corporation's teams to conduct inspections across various city zones to improve sanitation and ensure compliance with waste management standards.
Joint Action Leads to Imposed Penalty
During an inspection in the Semra area, under Zone No. 16, officials discovered scattered medical waste along with other refuse. The search of the waste yielded bills and documents directly linked to 'Tarana Medical Store & Surgery', which operates in Ward No. 69, Zone No. 09.
Assistant Health Officer of Zone No. 16, Mr. Saurabh Sahu, immediately informed his counterpart in Zone No. 09, Mr. Balveer Malik. The teams from both zones collaborated, leading to a spot fine of Rs 10,000 imposed on the store's operator.
Strict Directives Issued for Future Compliance
Store management was strictly warned against mixing bio-medical waste with general refuse and disposing of it openly. They were instructed to segregate and dispose of waste according to regulations. Furthermore, a clear warning was issued against any future recurrence, with the threat of more severe action.
