Medanta Enters Rajasthan With New Jaipur Mediclinic, Launches Nationwide ‘Mission Save Heart’ Initiative

The Gurugram-based healthcare group expands its footprint as India faces a surge in cardiovascular diseases among younger adults

Medanta – The Medicity, one of India’s largest private multi-specialty healthcare providers and a six-time Newsweek-ranked “Best Private Hospital in India,” announced on December 6 its entry into Rajasthan with the launch of a new super-specialty Mediclinic in Jaipur. The expansion underscores the group’s broader strategy to bring advanced medical services to fast-growing urban centers beyond the major metros.

A New Super-Specialty Hub on Tonk Road

The Jaipur Mediclinic, located on Tonk Road, will serve as a key access point for advanced consultations across high-demand disciplines, including medical oncology, cardiology, lung transplantation, uro-oncology, and gastrosciences. The centre will also provide clinical reviews for complex cases involving lung transplants and chest surgeries.

Medanta’s Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. Naresh Trehan, said the Jaipur facility reflects the organisation’s mission to combine expert-driven care with accessibility. He noted that Medanta’s “patient-first approach” allows multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate and deliver tailored treatment plans rooted in the philosophy that “every life is invaluable.”
He added that the launch represents “a new chapter” aimed at extending world-class care deeper into the country.

A Response to India’s Growing Heart Health Crisis

The expansion coincides with an alarming rise in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) across India—particularly among younger demographics. Under its nationwide awareness program “Mission Save Heart,” Medanta aims to highlight the increasing burden of hypertension, sleep apnea, heart attacks, and other cardiac risks.

Leading the initiative is Dr. R. R. Kasliwal, Chairman of Clinical & Preventive Cardiology at Medanta Gurugram and a recipient of the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award. Citing World Health Organization estimates, Dr. Kasliwal stressed that India accounts for nearly one-fifth of global deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases, a trend driven by early onset and lifestyle-related risk factors.

He noted that conditions such as heart attacks, hypertension, heart failure, and cardiomyopathy—collectively referred to as the “4 Hs”—make up almost one-quarter of India’s total disease burden, according to the Global Burden of Disease Report. Worryingly, CVDs tend to affect Indians nearly a decade earlier than patients in many Western countries.

“With heart attacks emerging as a leading cause of death among adults aged 40 to 69, the need for preventive action is urgent,” Dr. Kasliwal said. “Through Mission Save Heart, we aim to equip communities with knowledge, encourage early detection, and expand access to timely cardiac care.”

Strengthening Rajasthan’s Healthcare Infrastructure

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Kasliwal described the Mediclinic as a “transformative step” for Rajasthan’s healthcare ecosystem. He emphasized that the facility is built on Medanta’s core values of affordability, compassion, and commitment to evidence-based care.
“This centre is not just a physical space,” he said. “It represents our belief that high-quality healthcare should be available to every individual who seeks it.”
