Maruti Suzuki sets new production record in 2025, crosses 22.55 lakh vehicles

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved a historic manufacturing milestone, producing more than 22.55 lakh vehicles in CY 2025, the company’s highest-ever production in a calendar year. The achievement comes amid rising domestic demand and steady export momentum, reinforcing Maruti’s dominance in India’s passenger vehicle market.

This is the second consecutive year the automaker has crossed the 20 lakh units annual production mark, underlining operational scale and supply-chain resilience.

Top-performing models in 2025

According to the company, the five highest-produced models during the year were Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga. These models account for a significant share of Maruti Suzuki’s sales across urban and rural markets, as well as overseas shipments.

The total production figure includes vehicles manufactured for domestic sales, exports and OEM supplies, highlighting the company’s diversified production strategy.

What drove the record output

Maruti Suzuki attributed the milestone to strong alignment with customer demand, both in India and international markets.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said the record was driven by employee commitment and supplier collaboration. He emphasised that high localisation levels played a key role in scaling production while maintaining global quality standards.

Manufacturing footprint continues to expand

Maruti Suzuki began operations in 1983 with its first plant in Gurugram, Haryana. Over the years, it has expanded manufacturing to Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and recently integrated its Gujarat plant into core operations.

Today, the automaker produces 17 models and over 650 variants across its facilities, making it one of the most diversified passenger vehicle manufacturers in the country.

Bigger capacity plans ahead

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki has announced plans to scale its annual manufacturing capacity to 4 million units, aimed at meeting rising domestic demand and strengthening its export presence.
