M'A's Womenswear Revival

The Portuguese duo, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, presented their autumn/winter 2026 collection under their label, Marques'Almeida (M'A), at 347 Old Street in London. The presentation included a cocktail reception.

Portugal Fashion announced that this collection marks M'A's return to the womenswear circuit after focusing on menswear. They plan to showcase at both London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week.

Collection Highlights

The collection, part of London Fashion Week's official womenswear calendar, revisits M'A's core design principles. It blends utilitarian and ornamental styles, rigour and fluidity.

Military and functional references provide structure. Fluid fabrics, embroidery, and crystal appliqués add movement and visual intensity.

Balancing Contrasts

The collection features a dialogue between historical references and urban culture. Baroque-inspired elements, grunge checks, and floral motifs are reinterpreted.

Heavy satins and bias cuts shift subculture codes into more sophisticated territory. Materiality takes centre stage.

Global Impact

Mónica Neto, director of Portugal Fashion, emphasized M'A's international presence.

"Marques'Almeida's international presence demonstrates that Portuguese fashion today has brands with the capacity to scale, consolidate markets and operate competitively in a global context."

Founded in London in 2010, M'A won the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2015. The brand is available at leading retailers, including Browns Fashion, Ounass, and Shopbop.

M'A has recently dressed figures like Beyoncé, Hilary Duff, Sofía Vergara, and Dua Lipa. This further solidifies its global profile. After London, the collection will travel to Milan.

What to Watch Next

Following the London presentation, Marques'Almeida will showcase the collection at Milan Fashion Week, continuing their partnership with Portugal Fashion. Industry observers will be watching to see how the collection is received and how it impacts M'A's market presence moving forward.
