Quack Doctor's Injection Leads to Man's Death in Farrukhabad
Farrukhabad, October 23, 2026 – A 50-year-old man, identified as Shripal Kushwah, has died in Bharkha village, Rajepur area of Farrukhabad, shortly after receiving an injection from a purported quack doctor. This incident has cast a severe shadow over the monitoring system of the local health department and the proliferation of illegal medical practices in rural areas.
Family Alleges Negligence and Foul Play
According to Kushwah's family, he was suffering from fever and weakness and sought treatment from a local practitioner named Neeraj. The family claims that Neeraj administered five injections. Tragically, about half an hour after the fourth injection, Shripal's condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his death on the spot.
Following the incident, the accused doctor, Neeraj, reportedly closed his clinic and fled. The family has expressed suspicion of foul play in the death.
Health Department's Role Questioned
The family stated that the Chief Medical Officer was informed immediately after the incident, but no health department official visited the site. This alleged inaction highlights the department's leniency towards illegal medical practices operating in rural areas.
Local residents are reportedly outraged, expressing frustration over the administration's failure to curb the activities of such unlicensed practitioners.
Police Investigation Underway
Upon receiving the information, Rajepur Station House Officer Darshan Singh Solanki arrived at the scene with police personnel. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Authorities have stated that the actual cause of death will be determined upon receipt of the post-mortem report, after which further action will be taken. The public has urged the health department to take decisive action against those involved in illegal medical practices.
