Etawah | October 12, 2026 – A man caused a stir on Monday afternoon by attempting to self-immolate in front of the Etawah District Magistrate's office. The individual, identified as Sawan Valmiki, reportedly tried to pour petrol on himself after consuming hair dye.
Fortunately, vigilant security personnel present at the scene intervened promptly, preventing the act. With the assistance of the police, he was immediately rushed to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Joint Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Wife Levels Serious Allegations
The man's wife has attributed the incident to a severe land dispute. She stated that some influential individuals have illegally encroached upon their land and physically assaulted them over the matter. According to her, her husband attempted this drastic step out of distress caused by the ongoing land conflict and its ramifications.
