Police Apprehend Accused for Rape Under Pretext of Marriage

The Jamner Police Station in Guna district has arrested a man identified as Saurabh Jadon on charges of raping a young woman for approximately nine months under the false pretext of marriage. The victim filed a report at the police station on August 12, 2026, leading to the swift apprehension of the accused.

According to information from the police, the 23-year-old victim stated in her complaint that the accused, Saurabh Jadon, a resident of Jamner, had promised to marry her. Under this deception, he allegedly engaged in continuous rape for the past nine months.

Criminal Case Registered and Investigation Initiated

Considering the sensitivity of the case, the Jamner Police Station has registered a case under Crime Number 167/26 based on the victim's report. The case has been filed under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, with the investigation now in progress.

This case is particularly serious as it involves a breach of trust against a young woman who endured prolonged physical and mental torture. The police are thoroughly investigating all aspects to ensure justice is served.
