Intensive Enforcement Drive Against Illicit Liquor in Farrukhabad
Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh - An intensive enforcement campaign has been launched in the Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh against the manufacturing, sale, and transportation of illicit liquor. Under the orders of the Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, and the direction of District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar, teams led by District Excise Officer G.P. Gupta have maintained continuous surveillance in suspected areas.
In a significant development on October 11, 2026, Excise Inspector of Sector-1, Kumar Gaurav Singh, along with a police team, conducted a surprise raid in village Ramlila Gadha. During this operation, the team successfully seized 12 liters of illicit raw liquor from the spot. The department has registered a case under the relevant sections of the Excise Act and initiated legal proceedings.
Crackdown on Illegal Liquor Manufacturing Continues
The primary objective of this special campaign, spearheaded by the Excise Department, is to eradicate the illegal liquor trade from its roots within the district. Alongside these enforcement actions, the department is actively raising awareness among local residents against the consumption of illicit liquor. People are being encouraged to promptly report any information related to illegal liquor dens to the administration, with extensive public outreach efforts underway.
District Excise Officer G.P. Gupta has clarified that effective action against illicit liquor in the district will continue without interruption in the future. He has issued strict directives for close monitoring of suspicious activities in the area to completely eliminate this illegal trade and maintain law and order.
