The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated a substantial administrative reshuffling, transferring 11 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This move aims to fortify the state's administrative machinery and enhance the execution of developmental schemes at the grassroots level.

Key Transfers and New Appointments

In a notification issued on Saturday, September 5, 2026, Narottam Bhargav, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gwalior Development Authority (GDA), has been reassigned as CEO of the District Panchayat in Harda district. The additional charge of GDA CEO has been given to Anisha Srivastava, an IAS officer from the 2021 batch. Srivastava will continue her role as Executive Director at the Gwalior regional office of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation.

Strengthening Grassroots Administration

This reshuffle is viewed as a strategic step towards improving administrative efficiency and ensuring more effective implementation of government programs across the state. Sources indicate that the primary objective of these transfers is to make ground-level operations more robust and results-oriented.

Narottam Bhargav's Tenure at GDA

Prior to this transfer, Narottam Bhargav's tenure as the CEO of the Gwalior Development Authority was considered a period of significant achievements for the authority. He took over when the GDA was grappling with financial and administrative challenges, implementing stringent measures and transparent policies to overcome them. Bhargav successfully resolved long-standing disputes related to undeveloped properties in favor of the authority, bolstering its financial standing. Under his leadership, ambitious projects like TDS-4 and TDS-6, crucial for the city's development, saw progress towards implementation.

Other Administrative Changes

Beyond Bhargav and Srivastava, the transfer list includes changes for 5 other administrative officers. These officials have been assigned important responsibilities across various departments and districts within the state.
