Major Action Against Illegal Murram Mining in Guna; Two JCBs and Two Dumpers Seized

Strict Enforcement Against Illegal Mining

In line with the stringent directives from Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, the Minerals Department in Guna district has launched a vigorous crackdown on illegal mineral extraction, transportation, and storage. This intensified action underscores the administration's zero-tolerance policy towards the exploitation of natural resources.

On-the-Spot Seizure in Sakatpur

During an unannounced inspection on Wednesday evening in the Sakatpur area of Tehsil Guna, a department team discovered and seized two JCBs and two dumpers that were illegally extracting murram without any valid permits. The operation took place near the 'Teching Ground' in Sakatpur.

Vehicles Confiscated and Further Investigation Underway

The inspection team found evidence of illegal murram mining being conducted using the two JCB machines and two dumpers. Prompt action was taken, resulting in the confiscation of all four vehicles, which were then secured at the Collectorate premises. A case has been registered concerning the seized vehicles, and statutory proceedings under the Madhya Pradesh Minor Mineral Rules have commenced. The Minerals Department is conducting a thorough investigation into the extent of these vehicles' involvement in illegal mining and other pertinent facts related to the unlawful exploitation of minerals.

Administration Vows Strict Legal Action

The District Administration has reiterated that, as per the instructions of Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, any form of illegal exploitation of natural resources in the district will not be tolerated. It has been clearly stated that the strictest legal action will be taken against individuals found involved in illegal mining, transportation, or storage, as well as against the seized vehicles. In-charge Mineral Inspector Vijay Kumar Chakravarti was present with his team during this successful operation.
