Maitreyi College Gears Up for 'Yuva Manthan' Event

On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will celebrate the college's six-decade-long academic journey and inaugurate several significant initiatives.

Celebrations and Inaugurations Mark College's Diamond Jubilee

This event is part of the college's Diamond Jubilee year, commemorating 60 glorious years of its history. The Chief Minister's arrival has created an atmosphere of special enthusiasm on the college campus. During the program, she will inaugurate the college's newly constructed Technical Centre of Excellence, 'Pragyanam'. This centre will provide students with a state-of-the-art platform for technological innovation and excellence.

Key Initiatives to be Launched by CM Gupta

In addition to the Technical Centre, CM Gupta will also launch 'Shwaas', an AQI meter developed to continuously monitor air quality. This initiative is a significant step towards tackling the critical issue of air pollution in Delhi. Furthermore, she will launch the indoor navigation app 'Sugam 2.0', aiming to simplify movement for students and visitors within the college campus. This technology will assist students in navigating the campus easily, saving time and enhancing convenience.

Commemorating Academic Excellence and Sustainable Practices

Beyond these new initiatives, the Chief Minister will unveil a special poster depicting the college's 60 years of academic excellence and its proud journey. The program also includes the inauguration of various new facilities and activities such as tree plantation, reflecting the college's commitment to sustainable development and the environment. Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh will be present as the patron for this ceremony.

Also witnessing this historic occasion will be Maitreyi College Principal Prof. Haritma Chopra, Chairperson Prof. Jagreet Kaur, Director of Campus of Open Learning Prof. Payal Mago, along with the college's faculty and students. The primary objective of the 'Yuva Manthan' program is to welcome new students to the college and familiarise them with the institution's rich academic traditions, values, and achievements.
