The Farrukhabad Police have achieved a significant success by arresting Rohit Hooda, the primary conspirator and a wanted accused with a ₹25,000 reward in the high-profile Arun Hooda murder case. This arrest is expected to considerably advance the investigation and unravel the complexities of the crime.
Sensational Murder Unfolds
The shocking murder occurred on July 26 along the Etawah-Bareilly National Highway within the Qadiri Gate police station area. Arun Hooda, a property dealer from Faridabad, Haryana, was shot dead, sending ripples of alarm throughout the district.
Investigation and Arrests
A case was registered against Rohit Hooda and several other individuals based on a complaint filed by the deceased's wife. In response to the case's gravity, five special police teams were formed under the direction of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG). Rohit Hooda confessed to the murder conspiracy during police interrogation, revealing an ongoing property dispute with Arun Hooda as the motive. He admitted to providing funds and weapons to his associates, Amit, Sahil, and others, and orchestrating surveillance of the victim. Ultimately, Sahil seized an opportunity and shot Arun Hooda dead.
Ongoing Search for Remaining Accused
According to the police, a total of four accused, including the main conspirator Rohit Hooda and a juvenile, have been arrested so far. This operation was a joint effort by the Qadiri Gate Police Station, SOG (Special Operations Group), and the Surveillance Team. The Station House Officer of Qadiri Gate, Kapil Chaudhary, stated that two more accused are still at large, and intense efforts are underway for their capture, with the police expressing confidence in their imminent arrest. This entire operation is being hailed as a major triumph for the Farrukhabad Police, not only solving the sensational murder but also sending a strong deterrent message to criminals.
