Roads Left in Disrepair After Namami Gange Pipeline Work

In the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, negligence associated with the implementation of the Namami Gange scheme has created significant problems for villagers. In Majra Khoi of Gram Panchayat Ajnar, the roads dug up to lay pipelines for household drinking water supply remain unrepaired.

Consequently, local residents are forced to navigate muddy and treacherous paths, severely impacting their daily lives. Despite the completion of pipeline installation under the scheme, the concerned department has failed to restore the roads to their original condition.

Mud and Inconvenience Plague Residents

The scattered soil and waterlogging have created a muddy mess, making movement extremely difficult. According to the villagers, this deplorable road condition is particularly hazardous for two-wheeler riders, who face constant risks of skidding.

Furthermore, schoolchildren, the elderly, and women must traverse these dilapidated roads daily, facing considerable difficulties. The roads dug for the Namami Gange project are now causing hardship instead of facilitating access.

Government Scheme Contradicts Daily Struggles

The government is investing crores of rupees in ambitious schemes like Namami Gange to improve drinking water supply in rural areas. However, delays in road repairs in Mahoba are turning this facility into a source of trouble for the villagers.

The pipeline, intended to ease lives, has instead created new challenges for people due to the poor condition of the paths it necessitated.

Villagers Demand Prompt Action

Residents of Majra Khoi have appealed to the concerned departmental officials to rectify this situation immediately. They demand that the dug-up roads be repaired as soon as possible to rid them of the muddy paths and normalize their commute.

The villagers hope their grievances will be addressed and a swift solution will be implemented to resolve the ongoing problem.
