Mahesh Babu–Rajamouli’s SSMB29 title reveal event to be held on Nov 15 at Ramoji Film City; to stream live on JioHotstar

The wait for SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s highly anticipated collaboration, SSMB29, might finally be nearing its end. On Saturday night, Mahesh Babu sent fans into a frenzy with his playful post — “It’s November already” — hinting that an update was imminent.

As per Tollywood reports, the title and first look of the film will be unveiled at a grand event at Ramoji Film City on November 15, 6 PM onwards. The event will reportedly feature Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and SS Rajamouli, and will be live-streamed exclusively on JioHotstar.

The live-streaming deal has created a stir in industry circles. While Netflix was expected to bag the rights — especially after Rajamouli’s RRR achieved global acclaim on the platform — JioHotstar has reportedly outbid Netflix with a record-breaking offer. The move is seen as part of JioHotstar’s renewed push to regain dominance in India’s OTT market, leveraging Jio’s vast user base for real-time engagement.

SSMB29, rumored to be titled “Varanasi”, is produced by KL Narayana with music by MM Keeravani. Set in ancient India, the film is being touted as a massive adventure epic and is expected to hit theatres in early 2027.

With Rajamouli at the helm and Mahesh Babu in the lead, expectations are sky-high — and the November 15 event promises to be one of the biggest cinematic reveals of the decade.
