In the aftermath of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s tragic death in a plane crash, the state government has announced a three-day mourning period, during which all schools and colleges will remain closed across Maharashtra. A state holiday has also been declared.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis addressed the media in Mumbai, confirming the emergency decisions taken by the cabinet as a mark of respect to the late leader.

State Declares 3-Day Mourning

Speaking to reporters, Fadnavis said the government has decided to observe mourning from today, with all public programmes, celebrations, and official entertainment activities suspended.

State holiday declared today

No academic activities for three days

Flags to fly at half-mast on government buildings

All official events to maintain a solemn tone

The government stated that the decision was necessary considering the suddenness of the tragedy and Pawar’s stature in state politics.
