A woman doctor employed at a government hospital in Satara district was found dead in a hotel room, in what authorities are treating as a suspected suicide. The victim reportedly left a note written on her hand, in which she accused two police officers of repeated sexual assault and harassment over several months.
According to the note, PSI Gopal Badane allegedly raped the doctor multiple times over a five-month period, while another officer, Prashant Bankar, is accused of causing mental harassment.
Following the discovery, the police sent the body for a post-mortem examination and have initiated forensic testing of the note to verify its authenticity and ensure that all legal protocols are strictly followed.
Authorities have stated that the ongoing investigation aims to determine the sequence of events and the extent of any criminal conduct. The findings of the post-mortem and forensic analysis are expected to play a pivotal role in the legal proceedings.
No official statement has been issued yet by the police officers named in the note, nor has the department responded publicly to the allegations. Investigators have indicated that further updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
