Grand Tableau of Jag Kalyani Maa Captivates Devotees in Narsinghgarh
Narsinghgarh, Madhya Pradesh | October 12, 2026 - On the first day of Sharadiya Navratri, the magnificent tableau of **Maa Jag Kalyani** drew a large number of devotees in Narsinghgarh. This inaugural event, organized by the Maa Jag Kalyani Bhakt Mandal at Dr. Shivji's Chowk in the city's Sarafa Bazaar, showcased the deity in her child form, adorned with exquisite gold and silver jewelry and vibrant yellow garments.
Mahapooja Held in Haridwar Style
A massive crowd gathered to behold the idol of the Mother Goddess seated on her lion. The atmosphere was filled with devotion. A special Mahapooja (grand ritualistic worship) was organized for Maa Jag Kalyani on the first day of Navratri at 8 PM, accompanied by Vedic chants. This elaborate ceremony was conducted in the style of the Ganga Aarti in Haridwar, with the participation of young Brahmins (Batuk Brahmins).
The entire area was illuminated by incense and lamps, with the air resonating with chants of devotion. Fireworks added to the grandeur of this religious ceremony. The tradition of devotion will continue throughout Navratri, with the Maa Jag Kalyani Bhakt Mandal members announcing that the Mahapooja will be held every night at 8 PM for the entire nine days of Navratri.
Community Enthusiasm and Prayers for Prosperity
The tableau, decorated with the cooperation of the local Sarafa Association and traders, has generated considerable enthusiasm among the town's residents. Devotees offered prayers to the Mother Goddess for the peace and prosperity of their town and families. The committee has urged all religious devotees to participate actively in this spiritual event.
While various pandals have been set up across Narsinghgarh for the holy occasion of Navratri, this particular tableau of Maa Jag Kalyani has become a focal point of discussion due to its divine adornment and the Haridwar-style aarti. A devotional atmosphere pervades the entire town with the commencement of Sharadiya Navratri, as devotees immerse themselves in the worship of Maa Durga. This event is expected to grow even more grand in the coming days, with the Bhakt Mandal diligently undertaking preparations.
