Reel-Turned-Revenge Plot Unravels
The accused, Samir Saudagar, a resident of Panna district, walked into the Satna police station on November 14, claiming he had survived an attempt on his life. He alleged that three men — including one Nishant Singh — stopped him on the road, abused him and opened fire, injuring his left hand.
Samir claimed Nishant had been seeking revenge for a past altercation in which Samir allegedly assaulted him for misbehaving with his sister.
Police initially registered a case of attempt to murder. But discrepancies soon emerged.

Investigators analysed Samir’s timeline and call detail records, quickly discovering that Nishant Singh was in Pune at the time of the supposed attack.

On the way — while crossing Behnaan Pulia — Samir began filming a social media Reel with a country-made pistol for dramatic effect. During the recording, the firearm accidentally discharged, injuring his hand.
Attempt to Frame Innocents
Rather than seeking medical help or reporting the accident, Samir and his associates allegedly conspired to lodge a false case to settle old scores. Police say the entire accusation — including the narrative of a targeted attack — was fabricated.
As the investigation advanced, officers seized a vehicle used during the incident and arrested three individuals. Six people, including Samir, have now been booked for providing false information, criminal conspiracy and misuse of police resources.
