Madhya Pradesh Police Seizes Property Worth ₹1.39 Crore in 5-Day Anti-Drug Operation

Massive Anti-Drug Operation Yields Significant Seizures

The Madhya Pradesh Police has conducted an extensive operation against the trafficking, sale, and cultivation of illegal narcotics over the past five days. This comprehensive campaign saw swift actions across various districts, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of cannabis, dodachura, opium, MD drugs, and smack.

In total, the operation led to the confiscation of assets exceeding ₹1 crore 39 lakh. This includes seized narcotics, vehicles, and other related materials. Numerous individuals have been arrested, with cases registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Targeting Drug Networks Across Districts

The operation was initiated to curb the rising drug trade in the state. Police forces, acting on intelligence from informants, conducted raids, cordoned off areas, and carried out intensive checking campaigns at various locations. These actions have been instrumental in apprehending several traffickers and sellers, thereby disrupting drug networks.

Key Seizures in Mandsaur District

The Mandsaur district Police demonstrated particular alacrity during the operation. At Thana Afzalpur, police seized 60.100 kg of dodachura, valued at approximately ₹1.20 lakh, along with a Brezza car used for trafficking, worth around ₹6 lakh. Two individuals, including a resident of Rajasthan, were arrested, leading to a total seizure of ₹7.20 lakh in assets.

Similarly, Thana Garoth Police confiscated 2 kg of opium (₹3 lakh), a mobile phone, and a motorcycle, with a total value of ₹3.70 lakh. Thana Narayanagarh Police seized 45.4 kg of dodachura and mobile phones, valued at ₹97,000. The Mandsaur Police also arrested three individuals in connection with MD drugs and dodachura trafficking, seizing 526 grams of MD drugs, 5.640 kg of dodachura, and a motorcycle, with a total estimated value of ₹5.60 lakh.

Further, Thana Suvasra Police seized 30 grams of smack, 7 kg of dodachura, and a mobile phone, totaling ₹1 lakh in value. Thana Daloda Police seized 71 kg of dodachura from a container vehicle, valued at approximately ₹50.65 lakh, including the vehicle's cost.

Major Hauls in Rewa and Narsinghpur

In the Rewa district, Thana Chorhata Police, under 'Operation Prahar 2.0', seized 79.190 kg of cannabis, a Bolero vehicle, and three mobile phones. This action led to the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of ₹20.17 lakh worth of property.

The Narsinghpur Police, through 'Operation Eagle Claw', seized 53 kg of cannabis and a Fronx car used for trafficking, with a total asset seizure of ₹18 lakh and the arrest of five individuals.

Large Quantities of MD Drugs and Smack Apprehended

In the Ratlam district, Thana Jaora City Police seized 67.58 grams of MD drugs (approximately ₹6.70 lakh) and a Renault Kwid car used in the crime. The Indore Crime Branch confiscated 12.58 grams of MD drugs (approximately ₹1.20 lakh) from an accused during a checking drive and is interrogating them about their network.

In another operation, the Indore Crime Branch seized 14.9 grams of MD drugs and an auto from two accused, with a total value of ₹2.90 lakh. In Shivpuri district, Thana Karera Police seized 11.15 grams of smack, valued at approximately ₹2.20 lakh.

The Rajgarh district's Thana Bhojpur Police, under 'Operation Shuddhi', seized 14.52 grams of smack and a motorcycle, totaling ₹1.90 lakh in value.

Crackdown on Illegal Cultivation

In Jabalpur, the Crime Branch and Thana Tilwara Police jointly seized 3 kg 978 grams of cannabis (approximately ₹1.98 lakh) and mobile phones. The Ishagarh Police in Ashoknagar district confiscated 45 cannabis plants and 30.560 kg of narcotics, with an estimated value of ₹2 lakh.

In Khargone district, Thana Beria Police, under 'Operation Prahar', seized 176 green cannabis plants (35.900 kg) illegally grown amidst cotton crops, with an estimated value of ₹2.88 lakh. In Betul district, Shahpur Police seized 1,270 cannabis plants (54.20 kg) cultivated secretly among maize crops in Semarpura village, valued at over ₹2.16 lakh.

Bijadehi Police seized 175 cannabis plants (39.800 kg) grown between maize and tur crops in Dhodramau village, valued at ₹1.56 lakh.

Continued Action Against Illicit Trade

The Bhopal GRP Beena Police seized 8 kg of cannabis (approximately ₹4 lakh) from two accused. In Sidhi district, Amilia Police confiscated 2.094 kg of cannabis and an Activa scooter, totaling ₹1.03 lakh in value.

Sironj Police in Vidisha district seized 2.113 kg of cannabis, a motorcycle, a weighing scale, and cash, with a total value exceeding ₹1.56 lakh. In Bhopal, TT Nagar Police seized 4.70 grams of MD drugs (approximately ₹30,000).

Madhavnagar Police in Katni district confiscated 3,000 intoxicating Nitrazepam tablets (approximately ₹13,500) and arrested three individuals.

This campaign by the Madhya Pradesh Police is part of efforts to trace the sources, dismantle trafficking networks, and apprehend sellers involved in the illicit drug trade. The police have affirmed that statutory action will continue to be taken against individuals involved in the illegal drug business in accordance with the law.
