The Cliff News | Bhopal | August 20, 2026 Madhya Pradesh Police have demonstrated their proactive stance against theft and burglary incidents by seizing stolen property, vehicles used in crimes, and other materials valued at over ₹2 crore 46 lakh in the past two weeks. This extensive operation was carried out across various districts of the state, leveraging technical evidence, CCTV footage, informant networks, and continuous field operations.
This campaign underscores the police's commitment to addressing property-related crimes, leading to the resolution of several significant cases and the apprehension of accused individuals. The seized assets include gold and silver ornaments, cash, mobile phones, vehicles, and other valuables, bringing relief to citizens.
Successful Arrests and Property Seizures Across Districts
In Ujjain district, Nagda police cracked two burglary cases, arresting three accused. Property worth a total of ₹29.10 lakh, including gold and silver jewelry, ₹70,000 in cash, and a motorcycle, was recovered. In the same district, Bhatpachlana police apprehended five accused from Morena involved in over 15 theft and house-breaking incidents. They seized 3.5 kg of silver ornaments, ₹1.52 lakh in cash, and two motorcycles, valued at approximately ₹12.70 lakh. Both operations in Ujjain district yielded a total of ₹41.80 lakh in recovered property.
In Harda district, police solved a theft case at a farmer's house in Dagwanima, arresting four individuals. Based on technical evidence, CCTV footage, and informant tips, property including gold and silver jewelry worth approximately ₹40 lakh was seized. In Betul district, Amla police solved a daytime burglary, arresting two inter-district burglars and recovering gold and silver jewelry worth ₹18 lakh.
Furthermore, Ganj police solved a theft in the Kila Khandara area, apprehending two accused from whom gold and silver jewelry and coins worth around ₹9 lakh were seized. The combined seizures from both operations in Betul district amounted to ₹27 lakh.
Significant Revelations in Gwalior, Satna, and Mandsaur
Gwalior police arrested four accused involved in breaking into a jewelry store, seizing property worth over ₹11 lakh, including silver jewelry, 6 mobile phones, and a motorcycle. In another major operation, a joint team of Janakganj police and the Crime Branch apprehended four individuals and one juvenile suspect in connection with a ₹18 lakh theft from the Hindustan Unilever agency office. Property worth ₹15.40 lakh was recovered from them. These two operations in Gwalior district led to the seizure of over ₹26.40 lakh in assets.
Satna police, with the aid of technical analysis and CCTV surveillance, solved a theft from an unoccupied house, apprehending three accused. Stolen gold and silver jewelry worth ₹18.94 lakh was recovered. In Mandsaur district, YD Nagar police swiftly acted on a blackmailing case stemming from a social media friendship, arresting the accused from Gujarat. Jewelry, including gold bangles, rings, pendants, anklets, necklaces, mangalsutras, chains, and earrings, looted from the victim, valued at approximately ₹15 lakh, was seized.
Police Vigilance in Other Districts
Sehore police busted an inter-district gang involved in mobile theft at Kubereshwar Dham, arresting six members and seizing property worth approximately ₹14.30 lakh, including two mobile phones and a car. Khargone police arrested three individuals for stealing aluminum wires and insulator copper rods from electrical infrastructure, seizing property worth around ₹12 lakh. In another case, three accused were apprehended for factory theft, with factory goods and the motorcycle used in the crime, valued at approximately ₹1.20 lakh, being seized. Total recovery in Khargone exceeded ₹13.20 lakh.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) units in Bhopal and Itarsi also achieved significant successes. GRP Bhopal's Gwalior BG unit seized property worth ₹3.49 lakh from a train thief, with another ₹94,500 recovered in a separate case. GRP Itarsi arrested two train thieves, recovering jewelry and cash totaling ₹1.67 lakh, with an additional ₹3.21 lakh recovered in another operation. GRP Bhopal seized ₹94,000 in property across two cases. Combined, the GRP units recovered over ₹10.25 lakh in assets.
In Jhabua district's Para area, police solved a sensational theft, arresting two villagers and recovering gold and silver ornaments worth approximately ₹6 lakh. Adhjanagar police (Alirajpur) arrested three accused in a case of grain theft from a government fair price shop, seizing 30 sacks of grain and a Bolero pickup vehicle, valued at approximately ₹5.52 lakh.
Vidisha district saw Gulabganj police arrest one accused for stealing silver crowns and necklaces from temples, seizing property worth around ₹1 lakh. Ganj Basoda city police apprehended four burglars, recovering two motors and jute sacks worth approximately ₹2.20 lakh. Tyonda police arrested three absconding accused in a village theft case, seizing property worth approximately ₹2.15 lakh. Total recovery in Vidisha district was ₹5.35 lakh.
In Ratlam district, Jaora city police solved a house burglary, arresting three accused and seizing chains, rings, pendants, anklets, ₹12,000 cash, and an electric auto used in the crime, valued at approximately ₹2.37 lakh. Rawti police busted a gang stealing electric wires for BIDS Project Pvt. Ltd., arresting four individuals and recovering aluminum electric wires worth approximately ₹2 lakh. Total seizures in Ratlam amounted to ₹4.37 lakh.
Additionally, Rau police in Indore solved a burglary with CCTV footage analysis, seizing property worth ₹3.20 lakh from two accused. Chhatarpur police solved 4 incidents, recovering ₹3 lakh from 2 accused. In Sidhi, Kotwali police recovered ₹2.50 lakh. Panna's Amanganj police recovered ₹2 lakh from a car dashboard. Shajapur police recovered ₹1.50 lakh, Morena ₹1.78 lakh, Bhopal ₹90,000 cash, Umaria ₹1.22 lakh, Khandwa ₹1.47 lakh, and Rajgarh approximately ₹1 lakh in various theft incidents.
