Madhya Pradesh Launches 'Jan Suraksha–Yuva Srijan Samvad' to Educate Students on Policing
Madhya Pradesh Police and School Education Department initiate a statewide program to educate youth on law, safety, and police operations.

Statewide Initiative to Enhance Youth Awareness on Law and Policing
The Madhya Pradesh Police and the School Education Department, with technical support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), are conducting a significant program titled 'Jan Suraksha–Yuva Srijan Samvad' across all 52 districts of the state. The initiative aims to educate the younger generation about the law, their rights and responsibilities, personal safety measures, and particularly, protection against cybercrimes.
The program was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on July 14, 2026, in Bhopal, coinciding with the release of the legal textbook, 'Jan Suraksha–Yuva Srijan Samvad' book. This statewide community policing effort provides students with theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to the functioning of key institutions like police stations, district police control rooms, and Dial-112.
Standardized Training and Material for Uniform Implementation
To ensure smooth and consistent execution, the Police Headquarters has developed a detailed handbook and a PowerPoint presentation (PPT). The creation of the legal textbook was guided by Additional Director General of Police (Community Policing) Shri D.P. Gupta and Secretary of the School Education Department Dr. Sanjay Goyal. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Community Policing) Dr. Vineet Kapoor oversaw the primary editing, with Assistant Inspector General of Police Shri Amrit Meena as co-editor.
Master trainers have been trained at the Bhauri Police Academy in Bhopal. These trained police officers and teachers conduct approximately 2 hour and 45-minute training sessions. Following this, small groups of 20 to 25 students are given direct exposure to the operations of police stations, district police control rooms, and Dial-112.
Comprehensive Curriculum Covers Diverse Safety and Legal Topics
The training manual includes a wide range of subjects such as human rights, the code of criminal procedure, women and child safety, traffic rules, de-addiction, citizens' duties, the functioning of police stations and Dial-112, assistance to crime victims, and disaster management. Special emphasis is placed on law, cybersecurity, and road safety.
The program primarily targets students in 11th and 12th grades. Training sessions provide in-depth information on the Constitution, civic duties, laws related to women and child safety, protection against cybercrimes, the ill effects of drug abuse, and traffic and road safety. Students are also given general awareness about legal provisions related to the POCSO Act, the Juvenile Justice Act, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, and domestic violence.
Cybersecurity sessions explain measures to prevent online fraud, such as fake social media profiles, the risks of sharing OTPs, suspicious links, cyberbullying, and digital arrests, with illustrative examples.
Hands-on Experience at Police Stations and Control Rooms
As part of the program, students visit local police stations. Here, they are introduced to various systems including FIR registration, CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems), the Women Empowerment Desk, the Child-Friendly Room, lock-ups, and the armory and malkhana (evidence storehouse).
During visits to the District Police Control Room, students are familiarized with the functioning of Dial-112, GPS-based location tracking, event dispatching, and the rapid response process of the police upon receiving emergency information.
Phased Expansion and Unity Day Plan
The program is establishing dialogue between students and police in all 55 districts, addressing their queries. On August 5 and 6, students actively participated in events hosted by Superintendents of Police, asking questions on law, security, traffic, and police operations.
'Jan Suraksha–Yuva Srijan Samvad' is being expanded in two phases. The first phase runs from August 5 to September 15, 2026, covering government, PM Shri, and Sandipani schools at district headquarters. The second phase, from September 15 to October 30, 2026, will extend to schools at tehsil and sub-divisional levels.
On October 31, 2026, National Unity Day, the program will include special police station visits for students. Outstanding master trainer teachers and actively participating students will be honored at the state level. These students will also participate in various programs across the state on Unity Day.
Innovative Events in Various Districts
In Harda, students inquired about the reason behind the color of the khaki uniform, information related to the right to equality, and the process of maintaining crime records in police stations. They also understood the transition from Dial-100 to Dial-112 and the functioning of the emergency service.
In Bhind, Reserve Inspector Shri Arvind Singh Sikrwar educated students on self-defense and legal protection through his own poems. Students were transported by police bus to the police station premises and then back to their schools.
In Sagar, Gopalganj Station House Officer Shri Ghanshyam Sharma welcomed female students and resolved their curiosities through informal dialogue, providing information on station operations and available services. In Rajgarh, cyber cell expert Shri Shashank Yadav demonstrated measures to prevent cybercrimes through activity-based methods, including examples of fake links and online fraud.
In Narsinghpur, Superintendent of Police Dr. Rishikesh Meena interacted with students and highlighted the functioning of 'Operation Aparajita' and Nirbhaya mobile, initiated for the safety of women and girls.
'Jan Suraksha–Yuva Srijan Samvad' offers students a unique opportunity to understand the practical workings of the police alongside their theoretical classroom education. By familiarizing them with systems like police stations, control rooms, and Dial-112, this initiative aims to strengthen legal awareness, promote safe behavior, and enhance knowledge about police services among the youth. This program is proving to be a significant community policing initiative fostering dialogue and participation between the police and the younger generation.
