Crop Devastation in Durgapura

A natural disaster has devastated farmers in Durgapura village, within the Madhusudan Gadh tehsil of Guna district. The complete destruction of soybean crops has plunged farmers into a severe economic crisis.

Farmers Appeal for Assistance

To inform the administration of their dire situation, villagers submitted a collective memorandum to the Madhusudan Gadh Tehsildar. They are urging for an immediate on-site assessment by the concerned patwari to conduct an accurate and transparent survey of crop losses, ensuring they receive appropriate compensation.

Failed Harvest and Mounting Debts

Farmers lamented that despite their hard work and significant investment in sowing soybeans, recent natural calamities and adverse weather conditions have dashed their hopes. The standing soybean crop has completely withered, turning yellow and leaving no possibility of any yield.

Economic Hardship and Pleas to Administration

Expressing their distress, affected farmers shared that even the few pods that had formed on the plants have shriveled and fallen. The total crop failure has pushed them into a cycle of debt, making it a monumental challenge to repay loans for fertilizers, seeds, and bank borrowings.

Demand for Swift Relief

The application submitted to the Tehsildar bears the signatures of several villagers, including Ramnarayan, Deviram, Mulchand, Sonu, Jorram, Indersingh, Mangilal, Ramasa, Vijaysingh, Raju, Kamlesh, Jamnalal, Ramesh, and Aman. The villagers implore the government to take their plight seriously and provide immediate relief and compensation.

Awaiting Survey and Support

Farmers are now awaiting directives from the administration to commence the survey process, hoping for the support needed to sustain their families. The community is looking for official action to alleviate their current financial predicament.
