He cited the example of a Mumbai street vendor using UPI to illustrate India's digital revolution, noting, "That is not a technology story, that is a civilisational story."

India's AI and Digital Prowess

Macron emphasized India's unique accomplishment: "India built something no other country in the world can... a digital identity for 1.4 billion people, a payment system that now processes 20 billion transactions every month, a health infrastructure that has issued 500 million digital health IDs..."

He pointed out that India disproved global skepticism about integrating a large population into the digital economy.

A New Vision for AI

Macron argued against the notion that only large tech companies and wealthy nations can lead in AI, echoing Prime Minister Modi's call for human-centric AI progress.

"India and France, with Europe and our partners, those who believe in our approach... might have a different way... the future of AI will be built by those who combine innovation and responsibility, technology with humanity, and India and France will help shape this future."

Focus on Collaboration and Responsibility

Macron advocated for a shift from simply 'doing more' with AI to 'doing better together', emphasizing the need for a responsible and collaborative global approach.
